How does the practical exam proceed?

The exam proceeds as follows:

You first meet the examiner. He explains how your exam will proceed. He asks you for the ‘Self-reflection’ form. The examiner will discuss this form with you after the exam.
Your examiner checks your ID. He also checks whether you have really passed your theory exam.

After this check, you walk to the parking lot for a short eye test. You should then be able to read the license plate of a stationary car from a distance of approximately 25 meters.
The examiner then asks some questions in preparation for the ride. These could, for example, be technical questions about the car or the lights on the dashboard.
After this the ride begins. You drive part of the journey (approximately 10 – 15 minutes) independently to a specific destination.
The examiner tests whether you can drive safely and independently and whether you take other road users into account sufficiently.

During the exam, a number of crucial points are examined:

• The control of the car
• Viewing behavior
• Give priority
• Overtaking
• Joining and leaving the highway
• Driving at intersections and roundabouts
• Special transactions

During the exam you will have every opportunity to show what you can do. It doesn’t have to be completely flawless, it’s all about the overall picture. What is important is how you react to other traffic and whether you are in control of the situation. In short, the examiner checks whether you have what it takes to participate in traffic safely and independently.
After the ride you will be told at the CBR exam center whether you have passed.
